Roughly 150 years ago, the old gas works "Gaswerk" provided the Westend of Hamburg with gas light in streets and houses for the first time. Today, the "Gastwerk" or "guestwork" provides the city and its guests with a new attraction at the old place: Hamburg’s first Design Hotel. The imposing industrial monument of the gasworks is the perfect set-up for a surprisingly harmonic set-up of old architecture combined with new design.
In the hall with 8,000 square meters flooded with day light, we created a first class hotel with 135 atrium rooms, lofts and suites, generous conference space – and a truly unique atmosphere. Experience design from its most friendly side: Welcome to the Gastwerk Hamburg!
